About Us
For nearly 40 years, Urban Service has provided comprehensive waste management services to public and private clients. Our commitment to providing quality service to time sensitive commercial and government clients has earned us a reputation for delivering tremendous value to our clients. We have received outstanding service awards from the US Department of Transportation and Amtrak and have been named the "service Company of the Year" by the District of Columbia Government.
Urban Service is a minority-owned family business, founded in the District of Columbia in 1972 by Dickie S. Carter. Urban's headquarters is located at 212 Van Buren Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20012, on approximately 2-˝ acres. The main terminal facility includes administrative offices, a maintenance and servicing center, an equipment repair shop and a dispatch division.
Consistent operational performance is made possible through our team of seasoned professional, led by managers with decades of experience in the waste management industry. Urban Service employs well trained CDL drivers and seasoned dispatchers to provide waste and recycling services. The Company operates with a fleet of state-of-the-art waste management vehicles that are well maintained by our experienced in-house mechanics.
